Leave enough room for the information people need
A large logo can look good in a mockup and still leave too little room for the product name, instructions or barcode. Work at the finished label size. Print the artwork on ordinary paper, cut it out and place it on the package. This simple step catches crowded layouts surprisingly well. Roll direction is a production detail, not an afterthought
Hand application may tolerate several roll directions. A labeling machine will not. Ask the packing team which edge must leave the roll first, then confirm core size and maximum roll diameter. A ten-minute conversation before production can prevent a warehouse from rewinding thousands of labels.
Run a small application test
Apply samples to clean containers and leave them under realistic conditions. Put cold-storage labels in the refrigerator. Handle cosmetic jars with slightly damp hands. Flex a labeled pouch several times. These checks are more useful than judging adhesive strength by touch.
